History of the Wyoming State Flag

The current flag of Wyoming was adopted on January 31, 1917. The flag features a bison on a blue field, with the state seal in the center. The state seal in the center features a bald eagle, the national bird, holding an American flag, representing Wyoming's support for the United States. The seal also features a banner with the state's motto, "Equal Rights," symbolizing Wyoming's history as the first state to grant women the right to vote. The seal is surrounded by a red border, representing the Native American tribes that once lived in the state.
