What Does an Indoor Flag Spreader Do?
An indoor flag can hang naturally in folds that conceal part of its design. A flag spreader is an accessory used behind the flag to present more of the fabric. It is not an outdoor anti-wrap device, a replacement floor stand or a reason to change the flag's attachment system.
Start with the exact accessory instructions
Annin's brass flag spreader instructions describe a bracket behind the flag, adjustable arms and clips attached to the back of the fabric. That model is specified for a 1-inch or 1-1/4-inch pole. Do not carry those dimensions over to another manufacturer's accessory without checking its instructions.
The useful question is not simply “Will it spread a flag?” It is “Will this accessory fit this pole and present this flag in this room?” Record the models and dimensions before buying.
Check the display you already have
- Pole: measure the diameter where the bracket will attach, not at a different joint.
- Flag: record its dimensions and finish, and inspect the fabric before attaching clips.
- Space: measure the width available behind and beside the display.
- Viewing position: decide whether the main audience sees the flag from the front, across a room or on camera.
- Instructions: confirm where the bracket and clips belong and whether the accessory is approved for the assembly.
Think about the result, not maximum width
A wider arrangement is not automatically a better arrangement. Check that the display remains clear of doors, furniture and walking routes. If there are two flags beside a lectern, consider their spacing together instead of setting each one independently.
For a video background, look at the actual camera view before choosing the final placement. For a ceremony, look from audience seating. These are layout checks, not a recommendation to pull the fabric tight or alter the manufacturer's hardware.
Keep the accessory in its intended setting
Do not assume an indoor spreader is suitable for a porch or exposed outdoor pole. Do not attach it to a cherished, damaged or delicate flag without first considering whether clips could harm the fabric. A naturally draped flag may be the better choice for that particular display.
Review FORTISVEX indoor and parade accessories for the surrounding display components. Confirm availability and exact compatibility before ordering a spreader; this guide does not identify every accessory as interchangeable or included in a flag set.
