Desk Flags and Table Bases: How to Check the Fit
A small desk flag and a small table base are not automatically a matched pair. The flag's fabric dimensions, the staff that holds it and the base opening are separate measurements. Check all three before placing a replacement order.
Read inches and feet carefully
A 4-by-6-inch desk flag is very different from a 4-by-6-foot outdoor flag. Save the full size, including units, in your shopping notes. A base described by its own diameter is not describing the flag size or the hole diameter.
For example, the FORTISVEX 050513 table base is listed with a 4-inch base diameter, one drilled hole and a 12-by-18-inch mounted-flag application. Those three numbers answer different questions. None should be silently substituted for the staff's actual diameter.
Count flags, then check the openings
Choose the arrangement before choosing the finish. One flag may suit a compact desk; several flags may need a multi-hole base or separate bases with room between them. The table-base selection provides different base styles. Confirm the selected model rather than assuming the photo represents every option.
- Record the number of flags you intend to display.
- Check the staff diameter or the manufacturer's compatibility statement.
- Compare the stated flag size with the flags you already own.
- Confirm whether flags and staffs are included or sold separately.
- Measure the tabletop footprint and the height available below shelves.
Plan the space around the flags
A reception counter, classroom shelf and home-office desk have different clearances. Keep the display away from the edge, where a sleeve or bag could catch it. Check whether neighboring flags obscure one another, cover a monitor or extend into the space where papers are handled.
If you are replacing one piece in a matched display, keep the old order details and photograph the staff beside the base. A visually similar base may still have a different opening. Do not enlarge a hole or force a staff into it to make an uncertain pairing work.
Compare FORTISVEX table flag bases using dimensions and compatibility first, then choose the appearance you prefer.
